HDCAM-SR is full 1920×1080 to tape though.

there are chapter markers and another type of marker.
I think you want the other type of marker (compression marker i think), as it will force an i-frame in
the encoding process and be right where you want it -
yeah once again us NTSC’ers get the shaft on lower resolution.
as far as resizing, I learned the hard way not to trust the scaler
in fcp. I do it in photoshop or after effects and never have a problem.Geez apple, get with the program and implement a bi-cubic resizer already!!

yeah thats the odd bit about vegas.
Its very powerful, very stable and its the only editor I know that actually
has robust high quality DVE options that work well without
any workarounds like all the other editing apps have to do.but things like no edl and some other oddities make it not so popular.

Though I have heard that the people compressing Blu-Ray H.264 HD video for Fox’s BR titles say it is still software and will be for some time and that they can spend weeks compressing a movie.

agreed mostly, but actually vegas is not really like those other apps.
most people who have never edited before find it the easiest to learn.

I have had mixed results getting ipod compliant video out
of compressor. sometimes it works sometimes itunes refuses
to bring it in.so I always use mpeg streamclip to do it.
If its not very long, I would export an uncompressed version of it and convert that.
