I checked, and the specs on my drive, a Pioneer DVR-111D is supposed to be able to read DVD-Ram. My customer is going to remove the disc himself, so he assumes the risk.

I also initially had a problem burning 8x media on my 4x G5 (Sony Drive). I went back to 4x media for awhile, and then, when I could no longer find 4x blanks, tried it again using Ritek discs. I haven’t had a problem since.

Soundtrack Pro has a feature that will do this. I think it’s called Time Compression or something like that.

Never mind. I got it. The program was just so slow to respond to my changes that I thought it wasn’t working.

Glitches in the video, even ones that are not readily visible, will cause audio to drop out, but only out the firewire. It will still read on your meters and will be audible over the computer speakers.

Does the audio cut out in the same places each time, and is it only through the firewire that you have the problem?
