Don’t highlight your timeline. Instead, mark an in & out point on the timeline before exporting to Quicktime.

You have to make sure that all your settings in Toast match those of your video, otherwise, Toast will want to re-encode.

All your files should be numbered with four digits, such as 0001,0002,0003. They will then import in sequence.

Actually, Doug shoots in 1080p and then edits in a DV-NTSC timeline. Yes, that’s DV. I also cannot understand why the Vortex DVD looks so good.

I don’t have an HDV deck. I need an HDV file. It sounds like Eric has the solution. The only problem is that it’s a Windows program.

I’m doing it for a client who wants it in HDV.

No sequence = no timeline window. I just can’t figure out how I could have deleted the sequence without noticing the timeline disappearing. It’s no huge loss. It was already finished and delivered. I just want to know what happened. I turned of AutoSave and have kept it off since version 3 or 4 when it was causing all sorts of problems. Is it OK now?
