I actually sorted it out. In Apple’s infinite wisdom, they blocked my system from downloading the firmware. I had to go to the privacy system and allow my iMac to download from AJA as a trusted developer or whatever wording they used. What should’ve been a 15min process took about 90mins to sort out. It’s ridiculous. But thanks for your reply.

I’m in the same boat. If you can elaborate on your solution, I’d appreciate it. I called Apple tech support and they were no help. Thanks!

    Ah! Thanks for the help.

On another note, is there a way to paste text attributes like drop shadow settings? Paste Attribute seems to only include the video parameters….

April 7, 2015 at 5:28 pm in reply to: can Seq in/out marks override Play/src?

I am having the same prob as the original poster. Spent many years editing on FCP and Avid. Can’t believe PP can’t do this. Is there any update to this?

    Thanks!

I knew you can remap the audio channels but is there no way to change the pan of a source clip?

[Alex Udell] “so if you need to add another camera,,,

open the existing sequence and add it as another layer in the stack…

Ok, but that means you have to sync it manually yourself? Can you add a camera after the initial creation and still use sync with marker or audio?

[Robert d'Alexis] “Yes you can. Go to “Settings” (the wrench icon) in the Program monitor > Edit cameras >
uncheck the camera(s) you don’t want to work with.

Thanks but not exactly what I was looking for. But I appreciate the reply. And also thanks to the others.

January 25, 2013 at 4:00 pm in reply to: Skimming? Is it really that great?

Thanks for all the replies. The current way I’m using the skimmer now, I turn it off a lot and use JKL. I just can’t skim to a frame as precisely or as quickly as I can with JKL. Maybe it’s a muscle memory thing?

But reading that using the skimmer to see a clip in the middle of a “stack” does sound useful.

I’m still using 7 for 90% of my work. Though I’m starting a small project on X now. We’ll see how it goes.

    thanks!

Thanks everyone for their replies but if skimming is so great, then why did most of us poo poo’d it (dragging) back in the previous versions? It’s essentially the same thing!

I feel that this feature should be a toggle that is on or off instead of having to hold down the key while dragging.
