It was a corrupt title. Have no idea why. I tried again and added another scroll title. It works as predicted now. The previous scroll title actually crashed FCP X. I deleted it and added a new one and all works now.
I don’t know about you guys but I find FCP X (10.0.5) to be very buggy and unstable.

I know this is an old thread but….what if there is just one clip that I want to set a poster frame? If I make a favorite form that clip, I can ONLY view all clips OR favorites. I can’t view all clips plus that 1 favorite clip. Know what I mean?

I myself work in the broadcast field and I too find it very disappointing that features that I need are missing from this release. But have you read Gary Adcock’s article? He outlines certain frameworks that he thinks are game changers. If you have any respect for Gary’s experience or knowledge, than maybe you’ll see what elements may be game changers. You should also read Gary’s comment about “Not for Professionals?”
I know plenty of people who make a living (some of them make a very decent living) editing and don’t need EDL, XML, OMF exports, tape captures, tape layouts, multicam. The point is, there is still an elitist attitude that unless you’re making content for TV or theatres, you’re not professional.
Plenty of Wedding Videographers/Editors deliver many more hours of content in one year than I deliver broadcast content. To me, they’re professionals. This version would suit them very well. It doesn’t suit me very well right now, but it wouldn’t say it’s not for “Pros.”
And Gary Adcock is not a fanboy and neither am I. But I am respectful enough to not crap on other people’s jobs and careers.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I have read many many posts by him and had many online conversations with him in our postings. I regret not having a chance to meet him in person. My best goes out to his family. He will be missed.

Yes, it should edit into the 29.97 seq fine since it is technically 29.97fps clips. Although this is assuming you captured it as 29.97.

I’ll take a stab at this and hope I won’t get my head bit off. You can shoot in 24p mode on the DVX100 which means you are already shooting with pulldown on to tape. This is 29.97 on tape with a 24fps look. You don’t need to mess with pull up or additional pulldown. You just capture as regular 29.97 footage.
I haven’t done this in years but I don’t think anything has changed.
