Footage of risingfromashesthemovie.com preview is very good.
So was the footage in the trailer shot with the Sony HDRCX760V or the
PJ760?? But the footage was very good and taking the DI step must have been a contributing factor.Chas

I guess the theory behind cloud-based virus protection is that you don’t tie up as much RAM / drivespace as you would with a traditional “loaded” program. And because it is remotely managed, you get real-time updates that don’t tie up your system?
Just assuming everything works as it should. As a side note:
the PC folks I use whenever I need a problem fixed are of the opinion that MSE doesn’t go far enough as far as total protection is concerned. Hence their WebRoot referral. BTW..they aren’t selling me software either, just offering an opinion. Thanks for the reply.

I’ve been using an inexpensive LED panel I got from Amazon.com. Not great but I do a lot of “run & gun” corporate AV stuff and it works ok. I will upgrade one day.
My “heavy-duty” is a light from NRG Research. It is dimmable and carries lamps that dim from 10 to 100 watts and built-to-last. Not the best but it is a price performer. You need a belt and they aren’t light either.
Here’s a link to their product line:https://www.nrgresearch.com/oncamera.htm
Good luck

Tried to post a framegrab and upload. Everything seemed to indicate my reply worked but doesn’t seem to be the case.
Oh well… long-story short: to anyone trying to pull a good key from an HDV source vid; the lesson I learned is you can do it if you first load up COLOR CURVES, SECONDARY COLOR CORRECTION, CHROMAKEY. Saturate the GREEN in Secondary Color Correction, BOOST GREEN in COLOR CURVES. This will give you as green a screen as you can pull in your footage. Convert to Windows .avi HD 1080-60i YUV GOOD and RENDER. Import your converted files to project and you should get a clean key. I did… while technically it shouldn’t work… it did for me and not a bad key image either.
e-mail if you want more info.

P.S. Just wondering if the Gearshift tool might allow for SD to HD conversion?

Thanks John:
Good to know about the SD / recapture. BTW, reason I was asking was I had an older Sony Vegas Project that I originally shot in HDV but edited on a different workstation which had limited drivespace, so it was captured as SD for a rough-edit. I deal with a bunch of archive video (tape-based) from gov’t./education groups that keep bringing me projects to repurpose. Seems there’s a ton of tape-based content that people want repurposed for digital media so I guess I’ll keep one foot in the past for awhile as it’s turning out to be a nice cash-cow for me.
Thanks for the response.

Thanks to all for the suggestion. I guess I’ll have to do a hands-on at an upcoming AV gear show. I will say I read a fellow cow’s first-hand experiences with the NXCAM. His findings aren’t encouraging, esp. in the area of chromatic abberrations (chroma fringing) of lenses and picture detail. If you’re curious, here’s a link to his final summation:
