  • Playback Settings Shifting from Best to Preview mode?

Posted by Chas Smith on April 5, 2012 at 7:22 pm

Using Sony Vegas Pro10 and noticing that when I playback the timeline, some scenes shift from Best to Preview. I stop and click on a scene and select Best and then go back to beginning and it does it again ( Best to Preview). I’ve repeated the process and sometimes a scene will stay in Best at playback, but not always even after I repeat the process above. I have an ASUS Sabertooth X58 with 12MB RAM and run a clean system. The source files are coming from a fast array so what is going on that I’m missing? When I first start, I preview in “PREVIEW” but after I get closer to finishing, I like to see things in “BEST” mode. This is 1440X1080 HDV and I have tons of room on the drives.

What am I missing here? Thanks!

Yea, just right-click on the preview window and deselect Adjust size and quality for optimal playback and your playback will stop changing quality.
