I tend to stay away from giving feedback in a forum, cause if you are honest aobut the work, either you are being, or everyone will jump on you saying you shouldn’t say bad things about another person’s work. Ya really can’t win. So anyone want an honest opinion of work from someone with 43 years in the business, the first 35 in broadcast local, regional, national, and international commercial production, I will give mine in private, but we have to find a way to do that reasonably.

I’m sorry, I thought I mentioned it is AVI.
If I look at the properties of their project rendered video in Vegas, audio is 8,000Khz, 4 bit, stereo ADPCM (that seems strange but I guess they need more for the video processing)
Video properties 1440x900x24, Indeo video 5.10 progressive scan, 1.000 square pixel, no alpha channel Playback rate 1, Undersample rate 1 (now this is strange too 30 frames per second, instead of 29.97) maybe just a round off I am guessing.

Now if I turn off render alpha channel in Vegas for my render it still shows 1440x900x32.
    How can I change this?

    Thank you for your responses.

Fast movement will always cause problems, the blur between fields of thesource and background tend to mix together and as a result will either key out or leave greenish trail. That is where you either live with it, or paint it out frame by frame. I personally don’t know any other way to get rid of that problem, altho the better quality the camera you start with and the less compression you use the better the results.

I’m sure the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority appreciate your usage of their copyrighted slogan. Gives them more exposure. Oh! and I am also a big fan of Irfanview for simple phot projects and viewing, I use Photoshop for larger projects.

If you can tell us what systems you are using, what kind of invironment, I might be able to help, but I don’t know of any sites that explain everything about chroma Keying. Just about every project has it’s own little quirks that have to be overcome.

They should all be listed in Add/Remove Programs.
Start with the last one and work forward til problem is fixed, if that is the problem.

Sorry when I saw this header I had a thought and couldn’t resist. Living in Las Vegas, I see lots of “Odd Behavior in Vegas.” Just thought I’d throw that in.

  • I use the UAL Version of Sure Thing CD labeler for my Beta, DVCPro, and VHS labels. I have an Epson R200 with the Print CD software that came with it for my CD and DVD labels. We create some things directly in the programs and some in Photoshop then transfer the files into these programs for final sizing and positioning. I have very good results with these, and the Sure Thing Label software is customizable to easily get labels from different places and make minor adjustmenst to fit them.
