As Grinner said if you see meter deflection on both channels when recording, there should be meter deflection when playing back. The UVW only has 2 channels so there is no 3 and 4. I presume you are recording with input to both channels. If there is meter deflection there should be audio output.

As usual grinner is on the right track for you. My main job is building digital signage for the Big Marquees here in Las Vegas, after a long career in 4X3 land of broadcast TV, so I have worked in both worlds. Make it memorable is the key phrase I have heard my entire career. Ya really can’t say much more than that.
Try not to have boxes with the key video elements popping around all over the screen, try to make the outside edges more eye candy than critical information, so the audience is not having to move their heads and eyes back and forth to the point their necks get sore.
Don’t hide the product in the production, but other than that.Dive in and have fun.

Sounds as good as any thing else I can think of. If you are creating two versions of timeline. Create two versions of playback. I think I read what you were doing right.

Try digitizing a signal direct from the BB Generator. See if it comes into your FCP with burst and clean black.

I can’t see putting that much work into something just to allow some guy that never knew what I was doing, doesn’t care what I was doing, or why I did it my way, and just wants to get it done quickly and effortlessly, because he has no interest in what I shed blood and sweat to create.Charlie

A good scope is great for this. You put it on vertical mode and put your legal graphic up over black for ease of readability. You can then count horizontally the number of lines the graphic occupies.

The key question here is “Would you want to see someone you knew and loved being shown graphically on Television?”
I believe you can show enough to get a point across without the actual shock factor.

I have never known of any actual laws regarding showing these types of pictures. It has been more of a moral issue than actual law. It is difficult to state what exactly would be allowed and not allowed. ie you can show cuts of 1/2 inch but nothing larger. See what I mean? Where would the actual line be drawn for legal purposes?
You just have to have good judgement and a little compassion for the injured or deceased persons.Charlie
