    Hi

    I have a Beta Sp UVW 1800, and i having problems recordings.
    When recordings audio and video there are entering fine into the beta
    when i playback the tape it only records one audio channel, could someone tell me what is the problem with this machine.

    Sounds like you have the playback audio switched. If memory serves, you have 1/3, 2/4 or somthig like that? It’s been a while. If you can see levels on both channels in EE (When it’s recording), it does live on the tape.

    As Grinner said if you see meter deflection on both channels when recording, there should be meter deflection when playing back. The UVW only has 2 channels so there is no 3 and 4. I presume you are recording with input to both channels. If there is meter deflection there should be audio output.

    Make sure your NLE audio output is set to channels 1 = 1 and 2 = 2 or stereo – whatever system you might have. I did have a problem with my 1800 once where 1 channel was low. It was evident in the VUs on the way in and out. I turned out to be a bad solder on one of the channels and was repaired easily. Hope this helps. Kind Regards, Chris K.
