Thank you Gary,
I never thought of dragging from windows explorer, Just tried it and it worked fine. I always used the Vegas explorer and dragged them into the timeline.I think I may have problems with the DVD 4 since our two DVD burners are both Pioneer.
Is there a list of compatibility anywhere? I presume Sony works just fine, right?Again Thank you,

I have tried many times to understand what I was actually thinking when I edited something. I really have no idea, it just feels right. People can give you all kinds of text book answers to pacing, motivation, technique. If it don’t feel good it ain’t right. If it feels good it is next to perfect. the reason I say next to perfect, perfection is only a goal, it can never be totally obtained, but keep trying.
How do you really explain that in words? I don’t think you really can.

It seems that for the most part anymore, if it is cheap enough, clients will buy it. Quality doesn’t seem to matter anymore, with the advent of no or little requlations for cable and easily obtainable inexpensive home recording and editing systems, cheap is becomming the standard.
Even tho there are quidelines for broadcast, when a client says well cable aired it so I will just give them all my business, TV Sales Reps will cave in and quality standards are shoved aside.

Had an engineer that had polio as a child. He walked with a cane.
If something wasn’t working, his first thing to troubleshooting was hit it with his cane a couple times. We had handles on circuit boards broken off all over the building.Charlie

Shortly after Digibeta came out we were using an audio post house. He wanted his audio levels to ride the “0” level on the digital meter. We had a discussion on that. Guess who won?
He never argued a point with me again. We became even closer in our work after he decided I was higher on the ladder than he was.Not sure if this totally answered the question, but I think it is an example of pecking order. Oh and the editor is not at all near the top.

That is what I was thinking, and that is why I was surprised when I was told that Vegas 7 was not supported on the Decklink forum. Then read that 7 supposedly has even better connectivity than Vegas 6 on the Vegas website.
My problem is that it is not responding properly, they talk but the Beta SP machine alternates between fast forward then rewind a couple times then goes into play mode and really doesn’t find the cue point.

That is what I do. I create everything as tho it was stereo even if it is mono. I agree totally with Steven.
