That sounds like it’s just a wacky bug.. Have you tried trashing the preferences?

[Thomas Kirsch] “When I connect a Sony HDR-FX1, I do get a 1080/60i video signal and capture works great. I am wondering whether there is anything specific I need to do in order to capture video with a Kona LHi card and a Panasonic HDC-Hs700?”

Are you recording to tape or to some type of solid state memory card?.. I believe the HDC-HS700 camera records to AVHD MPEG 4 and you may need to use log and transfer to unwrap the mpeg file and convert it to quicktime instead of capturing through the LHI. Your Sony HDR-FX1 is HDV and records to tape which may explain why you’re able to capture component into your LHI.

  • [Jeremy Garchow] “What I am recommending (and what I think Kris is trying to do) is using baseband video (HDSDI) and a capture device, like a Kona card (or ioHD or ioExpress, ie any HD capable AJA device).”

If I go SDI out of the HDX900 into my LHI.. what am I using to for machine control and timecode..

    Thanks in advance,

  • Jeremy,

I recently tried this within FCP on and 8 core mac pro that doesn’t have a 6 pin firewire 400, so I subsituted a 800 to 400 firewire cable and had no luck. Do you know if AJA VTR exchange will solve my problem as well.

October 12, 2010 at 4:02 am in reply to: Delay in audio with respect to video.

[Josue M Sisco] “I record the audio and video separately.”

Why? are you recording a reference track on your camera that you can use as a guide when you slip out of sync?

[Josue M Sisco] “My problem is that when my audio editing guy finishes editing the audio and hands me the file (.wav) and I import it to my FCP timeline, even if I correctly align (sync audio and video) it at the beginning of the clip at the end of the video (normally about 26-27 mins) the audio is completely off.”

How are you giving your audio guy the files he uses to mix the show
