It will only make any difference if you use the 3d raytrace engine, or any openGL enabled plugin. If you do, having a slower/cheaper GPU may not be very productive.

    I believe a GT640 would double the performance of a GT610.

Those “animators” exist for text layers only, as far as I know.

I’m guessing telling them to trim the last two frames is not an option? People at broadcasting act like robots sometimes.

One question though, since I don’t know avid. When you say exaclty 125 frames… Does it start at 0 and goes to 124? Check that out, maybe you’re getting one extra frame there, and perhaps another adds up somewhere down the line.

  • Since I bought a mouse to macro the mini flowchart pop up (My keyboard was tired of all the shift bashing), nothing else bothers me in cs6.

It crashes about 80% of the time every single time I hit render while encoding to .wmv (This happens a lot in my workflow). But I got so used to save prior to that and since it allways work the second time its not a big deal.

I’d say overall in its current state it’s a pretty solid release. The best I’ve used to date.

  • I think you can’t do that with particular. With form, from what I saw, theres at least one way to do it. You can use layers maps and apply individually to each axis. I’m guessing if you do a fractal noise small enough and use a high strengh it will be close to “individual” value to each particle.

Check if it solves your problem. If not explain it better what you’re after and I’ll see if I can help you get closer to it.

Why do you say frames will be lower in quality?

Well since we’re going online, theres no point of it being 29.97 (30 drop frame).

People go for 25fps or 24fps for a bunch of reasons. Its less data, saves up on render times, and some say is because the look and feel of film.

Would your audience be able to tell the difference? Is your work entirely digital or you’ve got some footage? I’d say theres little point in converting if you don’t need to (from 30 to 25) and theres also little point in doing 5 extra frames for close to nothing.

That screen shot tell us nothing… does those output paths exist? for both the .avi and the multipasses?

from what I can tell you’re trying to write to 2 different user folders, and I’m betting you don’t have access to both of them.

  • I tend to avoid giving much importance to this “keep colors consistency” “right way/wrong way”. It’s not that I don’t give a crap with the client’s branding. It’s because after all of that you’ll end up using effects, color corrections…things that will make your work look good, not mathematicaly accurate.

I usually ask for one good reference to the brand/logo. And then after all work is done I do one single correction to make the colors look what they would suppose to be.

I unfortunatly also don’t know about print.

What you want is a very specific scalling algorithm (like the one controlling viewport magnification that you used as example), there’s nothing font or quality related there. Nor thats an application limitation, no one would ever be able to make fonts render in “n” ways considering “n” scale values. That alone is an application by itself.
