You have the option to right click on the timeline (where it says “Layer name”) and go to columns -> duration.

It displays current lenght in the timeline…to always display full lenght I’m not sure you can (within the timeline).

It has to be something other than the style/order. Like shadow darkness too high maybe? Because I created a 3d pre-comp of a glow styled layer and I can see the feathering of the shadow where the glow is.

try to precomp the layer with the glow. Set the pre-comp to 3d/cast shadow. It should work (softing the shadows) Though a glow, being a light effect shouldn’t cast shadows IMO.

What version are you on? In cs6 it shouldn’t be casting shadows at all. I guess they changed the order in which styles render.

  • I’m NO EXPERT at all…but that was a 13% gain. I don’t think thats minimal for a 40% increase in clock speed.

You may see things rendering faster if you go for multprocessing. But unfortunatly I believe it won’t ever be close to half the time even though you have close to double the processing power, there are several other bottlenecks and software implementations needed for that.

go to your composition settings and check for how much samples are set for motion blur in the advanced tab… default is 16 and 128.

you can apply the data to one end of the beam effect, but that will give you a straight line not a bezier curve.

Well, This script would help you link positional data to a mask vertice. Unfortunatly its kind expensive if you need for just that example. There are others scripts there that work/assist with masks there are “name your own price” and may be able to assist you.

For example Keytweak would help you interpolate masks to visually give that “falloff”.

Edit: Thinking about it now, You may be able to pull that out with a line and puppet tools, if not actually needing a mask is an option. You can easily link a puppet point to your tracked mask with the pickwip.

  • My friend, what you want is exactly what reshape does. Forget about morphing or animating at all.

You tell the effect what to distort and where each part should go by defining two masks.
    Quick and simple.

  • You should use the reshape effect.

  • You have to animate that null’s rotation after the second text comes in. From what you said you’re simply rotating it, not animating.
