You’ll need any plugin that is capable of breaking objects using the voronoi algorithm. Search for voronoi shatter tutorials…it will get you through.

To match height or width I would import every video and select the tallest one (or widest) and precomp leaving attributes then import everything else to it and use the Transform -> fit to comp height command.

If you want to crop whats left off canvas you should precomp each layer moving attributes or else just copy/paste them back.

While saving, make sure “Create compatible pdf file” is checked (something like that since mine is in another language).

  • Are you using the raytraced engine or the default one?

Can you preview the first frame in full res?

  • precompose again with “move all atributes inside..” option. Animate this new comp. Layers styles are applied after all transformations so they should allways be pre-comp’d.

    Not much sense…no! lol!

You want it to recieve ilumination as a single layer, yet still behave as it were 3d?

you can precompose, make a slave camera inside this composition(parented to your main camera). Then you’ll have two options. Either uncheck collapse transformations and turn this comp 3d, your camera movements will be doubled but light will be casted/recieved. Or you can leave it 2d and add a 3d black layer on top with add/screen mode.

In case that’s not what you wanted…keep in mind that you can also add 2d layers inbetween 3d layers to break the 3d interaction.

Most of my similar problems are usually solved with duplicated cameras/comps and track mattes.

Hey, I have a very limited expression knowledge and even less math skills, but looking at that expressions I can see that, for a start, your Z calculations have a total disregard for your X and Y values.

This will never work until you find out a way to intertwine all 3 dimensions.

automatically, I don’t think so. You’ll have to break it and position it yourself.
