Do you really need the specularity of all those lights? Cause if you don’t, and it’s just for illumination, you could paint a hdri map that simulates your light’s positions.
But if 8 lights are not an E3D limitation (you should search for that info on VCP’s site). It may be a limitation of your GPU or driver?

There are several ways you could do that. Add an adjustment layer on top of everything, add a transform effect and subtract your composition width in the X value of the position property. Then add a cc composite effect with rgb only checked off.
Another way to do it is to create a composition thats 3x as wide. Animate things in this one. Then duplicate it two times and displace it one time fully to the left and the other to the right. You’ll still may run into problems if you need things to do more than one “revolution”.

What does yours look like now? Because that example looks pretty straightforward (By realflow standards I mean). The hard parts with oils and paints is to get the tendrils. There’s almost none there. It’s a somewhat low res emitter, a collider, an atractor and a turbulence field.

ctrl + alt + O, while the camera is selected. You probably removed the auto orientation. Now instead of it orbiting by its anchor, It is rotating around itself.

[Walter Soyka] “This will take a little while to set up, but you can do a lot of copy-pasting. It will be very fast to populate when you are finished.”
And after all that is done you send out the preview and the client goes like “maybe we should use videos instead of photos”.
Hahaha, there is never “one project to rule them all”. But it’s a nice solution nonetheless.

[Ay Staum] “Most tutorials I have seen involve editing a comp for each of the placeholders…”
1- because its easier this way… seldom you’ll want to just place a picture into something and not scale or frame it better. most pictures won’t be the same resolution so why would you automate this process if you’ll need to go into each comp and adjust stuff?
But maybe you can physicaly replace image files while keeping the same file/naming structure and it will work (not sure AE checks for any other data while opening a project). Or you could write a script that imports and place things appropriately, but that requires time and knowledge.

September 8, 2017 at 11:57 am in reply to: How do you zoom out of an image to reveal something bigger?well, you could set both layers 3d, create a camera and literally zoom out. (using the camera’s zoom property)

That extremely simple. Move the car slightly backyards every half a frame and take it back again every frame. You should get the motionblur. And since during each frame its in the same place it will look as stationary.

If so go forMath.sin(time)*45Cassius Marques
