Twixtor has no object data nor camera info to make its math. It just pushes pixels, and it has a limitation to understand which pixel went where EVEN with a vector map to assist in the creating of its vectors.

November 9, 2017 at 12:19 pm in reply to: Twixtor and motion vectors from 3D files advice?Well, I’m not sure what pixel depth revision FX’s plugins use. So if you’re using 16bpc, make sure the pass is using the correct output(it may be 8bpc). From my experience you have to make sure you have alpha where alpha is due. (meaning alpha should be black with alpha and not the stationary color value, this may solve any edge issues).
If you’re having incorrect deformations make sure the vectors are coming out correct from octane, You may be having inverted Y or something.
But just to throw it around… can’t you slow it down in C4D and avoid this all together? Or are your frames taking too long to render? Cause Time tracks are awesome in C4d.

November 8, 2017 at 12:52 pm in reply to: Twixtor and motion vectors from 3D files advice?Theres a pretty extensive explanation in revisionfx’s site. But you should start with telling us which software are you exporting/rendering from. Or at least whats wrong with your results. Is it incorrect deformations? alpha edges defects?

November 8, 2017 at 11:42 am in reply to: Thoughts on getting this shape alive? (Pic attached)yes, it seems like form would be ideal. Looks like a single stack of X by Y points, cropped by a circle (either a map or the sphere force options in form). Having a gradient mapped to the color in a X over Y fashion. And a formula like gradient being mapped to position in XY over Z.

I’d say the spiders lack a little bit of contact shadows. As for the effects, they could have more depth. Don’t use a single plane, they will look flat. And try to make their lights bleed more on the rest of the shot. You’re showing a blue portal thingy but nothing gets lit by it? not even the person inside it?
The 3d spiders should be affected by its effects too.

November 6, 2017 at 12:57 pm in reply to: After Effects causing blue screen of death when renderingI’m not sure any program will be able to crash your system. There’s probably a hardware issue, like overheating or faulty ram that shows during rendering since you’re using more of your resources.

Are you sure that ain’t done in-game by messing up with the DOF settings(I mean, code wise, not just game settings)? Because I’m pretty sure GPUs can do that on the fly. At least some mods made the same as that in Skyrim when I used to play it years ago.
But its quick and a just few frames. You could just mask it out and blur, or if the BG differs in colors do a key and blur using the matte.

You can still create shapes from a vector pdf. I’m just not sure how much compatibility you’ll get from any third party generated pdf.
But have you tried the create shapes from path’s command?
