  • Are you animating the letters after E3D or are you animating the text thats the base for the extrude? If the latter, it won’t work. Because the plugin can only see the font as masks. And it doesn’t know where it intersects so the masks can’t overlap. VCP gives you some settings inside the extruded object, theres one called “fix holes” have you tried messing around with those options?

You have to break the text and create them individualy or figure out some setting that will function as some sort way for you to animate kerning (I can’t remember any now, but from the image I’m guessing thats what you’re trying to do?)

November 22, 2017 at 4:01 pm in reply to: How can i animate this Logo like golf swing ?

That logo makes little sense, his arms should be on the oposite side, or at least in the same side as the end of the swoosh.

Otherwise he did what? Spun the club over his head?

I would had a hard time thinking this out… But probably I would duplicate the vector a few times, and create parts for the cap, arms, club, swoosh and torso, so I could make a little bit of anchor/rotation changes and mask/vector handframing.

Well, I’m not sure about the technique, but you could do your animation then reimport every frame and place each new one on top of the others, all set to screen blend mode. Then put some color bleeds overlaying on top.

After some time they inverted the output and we can see something that resembles the echo effect with a lot of copies. So maybe thats just it.

Its just a single revolution with easy out, easy in (of about 90-100% keyframe influence, by my guess)… happening in about 7 seconds.

    Nothing much to it…

  • You have a property called random Z rotation (or something like that). Thats what you should change (Its totally counterintuitive, I know)

I got really pissed when I discovered that Stardust has that same hindrance… I had to duplicate the emitter just so I could get particles to spin the other way.

Thats one way to do it too with particular if you want the exactly same rotation value (and not a random one), just CW and CCW. Duplicate the effect with properties, and change the rotation value and the seed number.

alt + click the position stopwatch, write
    x=time*200;
    transform.position+[x,0]

  • Something like this?

If so, I did that with the WarpRepeat plugin from Sapphire.

  • The problem is that smoothing the transition conflicts with its concept. On the third image, the effect consists in a single row of pixel (in a circle shape, on that case) being “scalled” until you fill the rest of the composition. I mean, its a single row o pixels being scalled. How do you smooth that? you can’t scale less because its still the same row being scalled… Am I being clear? 😛

Smoothing will completely change its look. One would have to do this effect on different rows of pixels and perhaps play with opacity?

I’m guessing the more you’ll try to smooth it, the more it will look like a reversed optics compensation effect. And not the pixel stretch.

November 10, 2017 at 4:05 pm in reply to: 3D Layers Intro Reveal?

That’s pretty basic, duplicates of the layer displaced in Z, a small rotation in Z and Y. Some parts of the logo vector are having its stroke dashed and animated. Throw some opacity animation in between and you’re done.

No vegas required, since thats a vector.

November 10, 2017 at 3:59 pm in reply to: Does the compositing here look good?

As for the portal for example, you should remove some of the wall and place layers of elements behind it in Z space. Put some at the wall level, and some slightly in front of it. So when the camera pans to the side, you’ll notice some parallax occuring.

I can see you’re using assets that are flat, and you’re stacking them on top of each other, and essentialy rotating this 2d plane in 3d space. This is whats making it fall a bit short on the realism.

To summarize, If you simply displace this layers a bit in Z and collapse this composition, it will start to look better.
