    [Arnie Wonners] “The amount of frames per second will obviously not affect the duration of a second, but if using time remapping on the main composition is the solution for this in After Effects that’s fine”

    If you have a rendered media, The FPS you’ll set will have an effect in the final adjustments you’ll make to fit your video to your desired duration. Yes it won’t affect the duration, it will though influence the amount of time stretching you’ll make. I’m glad you understand that. One can never be sure how dumb others can be in a forum. I was just being thorough, since you were asking a pretty basic question.

    And I can still double the playback speed and not change duration at all (by rendering more frames). I was just trying to tackle all variables.

    Did you remember turning off the default auto save function? OR did something get so corrupted that your folders are empty?

    Because, dude, you’ve been working 5 months on a project and all you had was ONE project version file? That’s crazy!

    Well sorry but as far as I’ve had this kind of errors, never once I could find a way to “uncorrupt” a project. Your best bet is to try and contact adobe and explain it to them. I’m not sure anyone else would be able to recover the file (and I don’t bet they will too)

    Best of luck!

    The right option would be to create a composition with your desired duration and FPS output, import your template and time remap it to the duration.

    [Arnie Wonners] “I know about time-stretching and time-remapping”

    That’s what playback speed is, a matter of frames over time. Those are pretty basic functions for it to require another procedure to exist.

  • since he seems to be measuring the left boundary of the rectangle (created by the drawing of the text) and adding to it its width. (x = L.toComp([rect.left+rect.width,0])[0];) thus getting a position in relation to the comp thats allways to the right of the text box.

    You may have to just remove the rect.width. You’ll end up with the position of the left boundary, and thats it.

    Try

    gap = 10;
    L = thisComp.layer("text");
    rect = L.sourceRectAtTime(time,false);
    x = L.toComp([rect.left,0])[0];
    [x-gap-width/2,value[1]]

    I’m rendering now and can’t test it.

  • Have four diferent compositions, one with each camera active. Composite them on the final composition.

  • If you want to upload the file I can take a look.

  • Have you changed the render mode to final? It defaults to preview if I remember right.

    [Davy Gunarso] “I still do not understand how to rotate the picture”

    Never in the video he rotated the image! He is allways orbiting the camera.

    [Davy Gunarso] “I pick the Selection Tools and Local Axis Mode…”

    He was using the orbit camera tool, hotkey “c” (or the unified camera tool), not those that you’re saying.

  • I believe the current display option is also stored on a per project basis. So if you end up opening another machine’s project and now you’re creating a new one. It may be remembering the last opened.

    I believe Dave was joking, albeit being a little bit condescending. There’s no Ae class 101. Just perhaps you should start with a more basic tutorial. 3d Cameras are not the starting point of a compositing software.

    But to try and help you a bit, when working with 3d layers and cameras… make sure you toogle the layers you want to interact to the camera to 3d. And see if you’re actually looking through your camera in the viewport. Theres is a dropdown menu that selects the view.

    If you’re still having trouble, take a Screenshot and upload it here. Its a lot easier to spot the problem.
