    Hello,

I am trying to create a camera motion. I place a jpg picture on my workspace and a camera layer on the timeline. I choose Unified Camera Tool and then using a left and right mouse button to animate the picture and it fails. The picture stand still.

I am following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9kZW0OIuWU

I thought I might see the jpg picture animate.

    I wonder why?

I believe Dave was joking, albeit being a little bit condescending. There’s no Ae class 101. Just perhaps you should start with a more basic tutorial. 3d Cameras are not the starting point of a compositing software.

But to try and help you a bit, when working with 3d layers and cameras… make sure you toogle the layers you want to interact to the camera to 3d. And see if you’re actually looking through your camera in the viewport. Theres is a dropdown menu that selects the view.

If you’re still having trouble, take a Screenshot and upload it here. Its a lot easier to spot the problem.

I still do not understand how to rotate the picture with the camera simply by pressing the left mouse button.

I pick the Selection Tools and Local Axis Mode. If I click the left mouse button and arrow, it keeps looking for an object to select instead of rotating it. Check the video, it rotates the picture, but it doesn’t work for me.

[Davy Gunarso] “I still do not understand how to rotate the picture”

Never in the video he rotated the image! He is allways orbiting the camera.

[Davy Gunarso] “I pick the Selection Tools and Local Axis Mode…”

He was using the orbit camera tool, hotkey “c” (or the unified camera tool), not those that you’re saying.
