I’m not sure exactly what is overlapping, but you said you tried doing a fly through 50 layers. You actually just need to go from 50 to 49, the rest is the loop itself.

Thats actually interesting. But for starters, we need to portrait circles as equations. can we do that? And how about three circles interacting? It easily gets pretty complicated.

Do you have any two points of the harbor that can be tracked? The default tracker can stabilize rotation…

What exactly can’t you figure out how to do? The bounces and color bleeds have nothing to do with a particle system. Thats camera and RGB splits.
If you spend like 5 minutes looking at the plugin’s properties you can figure that out.

Not even vector softwares have that function AFAIK… I’m pretty sure you can’t automate that in AE. I can’t even begin to imagine how to do that with just circles (creating points, with position data, while regarding 2 layer’s position, rotation and radius). That’s some hard math you’re at, and don’t forget the fact that you can’t create layers arbitrarily. They must be there on your timeline and just recieve the position from something.

Scale the layer by the percentage you want, then use a script that copy/pastes masks while respecting scale. Such as CopyMask2Layer.

Thats probably the reason they don’t have such a thing as 2/3. You’d have to make some odd interpolations to preview that. I’m betting that previewing 2/3 at 66% de resolution would require some strange aproximations.

increase the path resolution, either by creating more points, or by setting the mesh sampling inside element to high, ultra or extreme.

create your image in the right dimensions, in the project pannel, alt drag it over the solid footage. It will replace all instances of the solid with the image.

If you’re doing pre-comps, why don’t you just duplicate the footage pre-comp and set it over in the blend mode you want?
I didn’t get why the effect isn’t working, I’ll need to see some timeline screen shots to pinpoint it. But since CC composite is nothing but a duplicate placed over it. You can avoid it altogether.
