    Maybe you got some problems in your instalation and the default HDRI maps are missing. So you’re just seing the default light. and not the “ambient” light. What happens if you click on the Environment button, Is the default Basic_2k_03 (or something like that) selected?

    replace them by alt dragging in the project window. It will replace all used instances with one another.

    Let me try to understand things, Is your “deep red solid comp…” composed of two layer simulating whats a transparency is?

    And what is the adjustment layer doing? How does it have anything to do with the track matte and the comp. I have no idea what it’s going with your post alone. We can’t see the effects on the adjustment layer, how am I supposed to understand what it should be doing and ain’t.

    [Dave Illium] “a bit of text is made into a track matte paired with an adjustment layer so as the track matte increases in opacity, the text and all layers below become fully transparent”

    And what do you mean by “paired?”. That’s not how adjustment layers work… By your post alone all I can presume is thats there is NO interaction at all from your text and comp with the adjustment layer.

    What you’re describing is exactly the use of the Silhouette Alpha blending mode… Just toogle video on the text and set it to Silhouette Alpha.

    Its best if you don’t mask anything. Create circle shapes so you’ll have position and the ability to link stuff to them. use duplicates and use the circles as alpha matte of a blurried copy of the BG, for example.

  • EN: If you model in a 3d app, you don’t need to use masks. All you need is to import the mesh and put the photo inside a plane in E3d.

    ES: Si lo hace en una aplicación 3d, no es necesario utilizar máscaras en AE. Sólo tienes que importar la malla y un plano y aplicar la foto como textura.

  • Paste
    C = thisComp.activeCamera;

    V = C.toWorldVec([0,0,1]);
    P = toWorld(anchorPoint);
    lookAt(P, P + V);

    At the layers orientation to make them flat to the camera.

    You could also map a 3d position to a 2d one. Pasting this to a position of a 2d layer:
    a=thisComp.layer("reference null");
    a.toComp(a.anchorPoint)

  • EN: Is the cube modeled already like a wireframe or are you going to use E3d’s wireframe mode?

    ES: ¿El cubo ya está en wireframe? ¿O va a utilizar el modo de wireframe de Element?
