Not with the FCP plugins but you should take a look at Final Plug from wavearts:
    https://www.wavearts.com/
It does exactly what you want and is dead easy to use. And it is in AU format so it works in FCP and Soundtrack!
You can download a demo as well.
I do not work for them but after lenghty research I found it and it solved all my problems!

You’re not the only one 🙁
I already contacted Apple here in Aus but haven’t heart back.
Luckily I have the edit machine hooked up to the net and can use software update.
    Strange one??

    Thanks Peter
Something is going on for sure 🙂
Reading the release notes for the pro app update again I noticed that for the fxplug change you need motion 2.1.
no mention of FCP. So maybe Apple is just getting ready to implement the fxplug architecture FC Studio wide.
But I guess we need an update for FCP first? Together with the intel machines?

I use the new graphire4 4×5 with the build in scroll wheel on the tablet itself (very cheap too)
This size is all you need for point and click operation. Maybe you need somthing bigger for serious drawing applications? I have 2 monitors and even set the working area on the tablet a bit smaller then the whole tablet to move small distances. Once you got the hang of it you don’t touch a mouse again and any strain in your hands is history.
I can’t live without the scroll wheel anymore because so many functions are supported to use the scroll wheel in FCP.
Jog in viewer-canvas/timeline scroll up-down/left right//parameter dials for effects//browser window scroll etc. etc.
    Cheers

    Walter
Check the release notes for 5.1
Page 4 and 6 of the Late braking news under help.
The freeze of viewer and canvas weren’t soley related to wacom but happened with it too.
    Anyway all solved now.
Only thing you’ll notice is when having the pen over the tablet your fast forward or reverse will get slightly stuttery but returns to normal whe moving the pen away from the tablet. No big drama.
Don’t know why you didn’t see it?? I had since version 5 but never in 1-4.

The issues re wacom and shuttle, freezes of the viewer or canvas while fast forward or backwards are fixed in vers 5.1 (the universal).
so what you are seeing is real and a common bug that now has been fixed.
I’m running 5.1 and my wacom now has no issus at all.
BTW that was the only reason I updated as I’m still on a G4 but 5.1 ist working flawlessly here.

May 9, 2006 at 12:03 am in reply to: Easy editing question.. move a clip one frame..

    Hi
What your looking for is called ‘Slide’ and is the 2nd tool in the Slip section (4th tool from top).
Select your clip – hit the S key twise (or select it from the tool palette by holding the mouse button until you get the additional options)- use the <> keys to adjust the position of your clip without changing its contents but by adjusting the clip before and after.
    Hope this helps
