Which software to make DVD covers
Posted by Frank Cervarich on June 29, 2006 at 7:33 pmHey –
Maybe somewhat off topic but I’m looking to find out what software you guys use to make DVD covers/labels. Would like to include freeze frames, copy and other elements to jazz it up. What say you?Bret Williams replied 19 years, 10 months ago 8 Members · 9 Replies -

June 29, 2006 at 7:35 pmThere are lots of templates for Photoshop out there if you want DVD covers, just Google.

June 29, 2006 at 7:59 pmI’ve been using Disc Cover from Belight Software. I may do a little prep in Photoshop, but I piece it all together and print using Disc Cover. It has templates for just about everything you’d want to use.

The typical DVD box that we are used to is technically refered to in the biz as an “Amaray box,” and the printed part that slides into the plastic liner is called an “Amaray Sleeve.” You can find templates all over the net for creating artwork for Amaray sleeves, and those templates are typically provided in three formats so graphic artists may choose their favorite app for the job — you’ll usually find PhotoShop, Quark, and Illustrator templates provided.

June 29, 2006 at 11:13 pmI have an Epson R220 that will print direct on ink jet printable CD’s and DVD’s. Will Disclable print to that printer correctly, or am I stuck with the god-awful program that came with the printer? (“Epson Print CD” is the worst P.O.S. I have ever used. It doesn’t even have an Undo function!!!)
