Brick Wall audio limiting
Hey guys!
I need some advice.
I do alot of audio work in ProTools where I can set a “Brick Wall” limiter. No matter what I do to the audio in terms of compression or other things, no audio will go above the set limit.
The Compressor/Limiter in FCP though is a bit harder to get the grip of. The compressor section is straightforward enough, but where is the limiter?
Is there any way to set this “Brick Wall” limiter in FCP?Thanks in advance!

Not really…
That’s been my biggest complaint with FCP. You can sort of do a limit function thru the compressor BUT that’s a compression, not a limit. You’ll find out that everyone has the same response – use comrpessor/limiter filter. Well, I can tell you from experience – it doesn’t work all that well at all. I’ve had to install a hardware solution with my tape machine so that I can limit the audio before recording to tape.

Not with the FCP plugins but you should take a look at Final Plug from wavearts:
https://www.wavearts.com/
It does exactly what you want and is dead easy to use. And it is in AU format so it works in FCP and Soundtrack!

I do not work for them but after lenghty research I found it and it solved all my problems! -
