When I enter my FCS serial number, and click download the Motion 2.1.2 update, I get the message “It appears you’ve already downloaded that update”, which I have not. Only other FCS .1.x updates.

Anyone else having this problem? Apple, are you watching and have any comment? Or can you fix the problem?

    Thanks,

Sorry for the double post, I didn’t think the first one went through.

Have you tried updating through Software Update?

Might work, but I don’t have the Mac hooked up to the internet. Have to do all my internet work on a PC, and transfer the updates to the mac with a CD. But thanks for the idea.

You’re not the only one 🙁
I already contacted Apple here in Aus but haven’t heart back.
Luckily I have the edit machine hooked up to the net and can use software update.
    Strange one??

Look in the Receipts folder of the system library. If there is a Motion package, try renaming it and then see if the download works.

Thanks Jim, great idea, but I don’t use the Mac on the internet; don’t want to risk it. I use a PC for internet work, and transfer the downloaded files to the Mac on a CD. No internet on the Mac, thus no system update capability.

I have my Apple reseller contacting Apple today to see what gives.

    Thanks,

    Gary

I think what Jim is suggesting is that once you rename the receipt, you file that you downloaded at your work PC should install properly.

    Cheers,

    Toby,

Perhaps I’m confused (happens a lot lately), but I can’t even get the download. After entering the FCS serial number, and clicking the download button, I get the message that “it appears I’ve already downloaded the update”. But I have not.

So, it’s not a question of installing the update on the Mac, but rather I can’t even get the update in the first place.

Or, are you refering to something else I’m not understanding?

    Thanks,

    Gary
