I have the same keyframe question and freeze frame issue.
Having edited with Avid for many years the one thing I find most disappointing about FCP is its title tool. Very limited when you try to use it beyond rudimentary text. Nonetheless when given a choice (at my at home suite) I go with FCP every time, like Macs in general, a pleasure to use. Anyone else able to tutor this text deficient fool?Thanks CG

Use Quicktime conversion to export. Choose H.264 for compression type and 320×240 for size. Also use the QT settings to change your audio to mono, this will help the file size a great deal. For a :30 sec spot the resulting file should be easy to email, you might even be able to increase the size to 480×360 as most email servers can handle up to 10 MB files. If you still need to reduce size try changing the frame rate to 15. For much longer sequences you will need to post to an ftp site.

Basically it seems that FCP has issues exporting to a combined mpeg2 format which is becoming, it seems, an industry standard for tapeless broadcast servers. Hopefully Apple will address this in the near future. Good Luck!
