Boris Continuum Complete definitely has effects that mimic the 3d warp.

The resize effect will do this. You’ll have to increase the overall size of the shot with scaling in order to have enough extra material to make a pan out of.

If you have any third party plugin packages (Boris Continuum Complete or something like that), you may have other effects that will do the same thing.

No matter what you do, you will probably lose some sharpness when you increase the size of the video, but that’s what happens when you do pans and zooms electronically rather than in the camera.

I don’t know if this will work or not, but try selecting Menu to Button Reassignment, and then select Sample Plot from the timeline fast menu and assign it to a keyboard key.

Hi Marc,

I can think of two ways.

You can hook up a DVD player just like any other deck, and capture straight from it. Obviously you won’t have deck control or timecode, but otherwise it’s the same as if you were capturing from a deck.

Or, you can get a program like Cinematize (www.miraizon.com), which will convert the DVD video to Quicktime, and import that into Avid. (This won’t work if the DVDs are copy protected.)

I’ve used Cinematize, and it’s great, but if you’re going to have 40 DVDs, it’d probably be faster to capture them.

Hi,

The first thing to try is deleting your media databases. Exit Media Composer, then open your OMFI MediaFiles folder and delete the two files called msmFMID and msmMMOB. When you restart Media Composer, they will be rebuilt.

Another thing you might want to try if this doesn’t clear up your errors is starting a new project, creating new bins, and dragging your media from the old project with all the corrupt bins into the new project.
