November 11, 2007 at 8:47 amHi Wally,
There are a bunch of training options listed on Avid’s training website: https://www.avid.com/training/
There’s a link to DVDs on the left side of the page.
good luck,

November 12, 2007 at 7:31 amI agree. The ALEX (Avid Learning) site has some great free tutorials. I got up to speed enough in just a couple of days to be able to start a new editing gig having never used the AVID prior to that (except a brief look at the original Xpress lo those many years ago). You can even pay for some of their more advanced courses and advance your skills that much more. Definitely check it out.

November 12, 2007 at 4:30 pmand, get an Avid 101 course.
Back to basics, but Avid is a beast with a mind of its own.
You either obay the Avid way, or expect to smash a lot of keyboards…Bouke

November 12, 2007 at 10:51 pmHey Wally,
I agree! I signed up for ALEX – they have an Avid XPress Pro 101 course that runs you through all the basics. It’s enough to get you sailing smoothly.
Cheers!
