Just did a test… pitch shift of about 250 is almost what you need for 80% video to sound ‘correct’… AND it wasn’t too bad.

You could TRY the AU Pitch shift audio filter in FCP… but 20% is a long way to go…

    yes, stick with 29.97 timecode.

Now — for your OTHER problem.

That’s almost another thread over in the DVDSP forum. You might need to trash a bunch of stuff and then reinstall Compressor… but ask over there, please. Don’t want to give you wrong info.

Here’s a work around that works:

In FCP — File – Export – Quicktime Movie.

Keep CURRENT SETTINGS and make sure the self-contained box is NOT checked.

    Name it and save it.

Open DVDSP and import THAT file as an asset.

Build your dvd and DVDSP will encode the file for you. You can go into the preferences if you want and mess with the settings… but again, that’s for the DVDSP forum.

    Good luck to you,

Could be now that you are getting this because of a render file that won’t go away.

If you’ve got time… look up render manager in the manual. You’ll be able to flush the renders and re render.

Might be that one of your photoshop files was CMYK????

    Really hard to tell.

NTSC is 29.97… has to do with dropped frame (I think.) We just round up to 30 to make it easy. Unlike PAL which is 25 and 25 dangit!

I like using compressor to send to DVDSP. Not sure if it’s better, just seems I like the 90minute high quality preset the best.

When you load it into a track for DVDSP, there is a window in the lower right that will give you track properties… THERE click the button that gives you FORCED LETTERBOX.

Difference between the DEL key and the delete key. Just a small clarification to David’s correct answer.

  • Change the aspect ratio in the motions tab under the distort twirl-down to:

    -33.33 or
    33.33

I forget which goes which way.

Check this out too: Might be a bit ‘beginner’ for what you’re trying to do, but it does deal with working with 4:3 and 16:9 footage in the other’s sequences…

Another way is to turn on the clip overlay at the bottom left of the timeline… kind of looks like pointed mountains.

Then you’ll get a ‘rubber band’ that you can change with your A tool or set keyframes on with your P tool.

    Good luck,

Yeah — kind of stumbled on this one day. Tried to keyframe a CC once and it took me through ALL the colors from one side to the other. Didn’t have time to figure out there must be a way of turning that off…
