January 4, 2012 at 10:09 pm in reply to: Problem with “because the timecode extents doesn’t match” with 5D footageHi JP.
I don’t see “ignore reels” but I’ll keep looking for it.
And I’ll try the Set Reel Number too, and see if that helps. I doubt it will mess things up going back to FCP. …here’s hoping.

January 4, 2012 at 8:19 pm in reply to: Problem with “because the timecode extents doesn’t match” with 5D footageHah! I hear you. Wait… in front of my screen meaning my wallet sitting on the desk? =)
So, I added a random reel to the clip in FCP. Re-exported the XML and same thing. BUT the clips in Resolve now had reels. (even though they are useless to me right now)
So then I did an EDL and everything is fine. Well, there are a few conflicts, but that should be easy to work out.
I’m still learning this, but liking it more and more. It almost feels like it did when I went to Apple Color from the 3-way color corrector….Almost.
I’d still like to know what the XML issue is, and/or how to properly troubleshoot it. But for now I can grade this short and be done with it.
Thanks Sascha

Thanks Matthew for the input.
If you had to choose between 8GB more ram and double the graphics card which would you go for first? As for the drive speed, right now I have an HDelement. I’m getting about 300MB/s – I’m pretty happy with that for now. I deal mainly with Prores 422 HQ 1080p stuff

Mark, can you post a link to your ebay auction for your MacPro?

August 4, 2011 at 1:08 pm in reply to: FCPX – Extended Desktop plus 2 monitors – Decklink Extreme HDBob…
If I unplug my 2nd monitor, (the 2nd cinema display), then It FCPX acts the way I want it to. It shows on the Decklink Extended Desktop.
I want it to do that, and keep my 2nd physical monitor running.

I apologize if by some way my post (as far as I know, the first one on this topic, and certainly the first one from me) insulted you, and led you to believe I had been told multiple times that what I’m asking for doesn’t work. This is in fact my first post on the subject, and what I’m asking for is not too far off what is already happening.
Do you have some experience with FCPX a Decklink Card and 2 monitors that you can share?
(Also, I don’t have AJA, Matrox or MOTU, nor did I ask about it in this Decklink forum question)

July 20, 2011 at 7:58 pm in reply to: Can’t copy and paste effects on synchronized audiowell it started working. Not sure what I did differently.
But it doesn’t paste the changes I’ve made, just the base preset. So…kinda useless unless I’m missing something.

Thanks Joshua for the update.
I understand (only slightly) the difficulties with Open GL and color.
What bothers me is that functionality was removed from a product that I purchased largely in part for that particular functionality. I used to have the option to turn OFF in order to run color. This was a pain, and I would rather not do it, but I would still rather have the option, than to have it taken away.
Now that I think about it, it’s not the kind of thing I would expect from Blackmagic Design.
Going back to the old drivers would be fine with me, as long as they will work with Snow Leopard.
I appreciate what BMD does, and I’m excited that they now bought Divinci.

=)
But seriously thanks. More than likely the client will ask for a 720p version, so we’ll do any changes in the current HD sequence.
Thanks DW
