Dangers/Method of scaling HD footage for an SD final?
I have a project that is HD. It’s a 3 camera shoot, and one of the locked off cameras needs to be scaled up (zoomed in) for re-framing, and to show better detail.
What are the dangers in doing that, and/or what is the right way to do it. (i’m concerned about messing with the interlacing while reframing)
MORE INFO:
Footage was AVCHD, imported as ProRes 422. 1440x1080i, 29.97
It’s being compressed for SD DVD.Right now all of the footage is in an HD sequence.
Method 1: Scale and reframe each particular shot while in the current HD sequence –> Compress for DVD
Method 2: Create a new Prores 422 SD sequence, then copy and paste the clips into the new sequence -> scale the particular clips to 100% and reframe –> Compress for DVD
Ideas?
