I agree with Rafael. Trying using PNGs instead. I like PNGs because they keep background transparency when saved in Photoshop. JPGs will show a black background where you expected transparency. Good luck.

I have this problem sporadically. I normalize the timeline by zooming in or out. (Command + or Command -)

    Hope this helps.

    Hey Bill,

Your idea works if my client uses FCPX also. These 139 clips are time of day coded. That means each shot has a time code that may not be sequential. Shot 12 may be 9:25:00 and the shot 13 could have 12:23:44 tiomecode, so your timeline timecode will not work in this case.

    Hey John,

Not sure what you mean by using Compressor for each of these 139 separate shots with time of day time code. Sony XCAM gives me a BPAV folder, which I un-compress with the Sony XDCAM browser or bring directly into FCPX Event using Archive Camera Footage. Can you explain further?

I had to do the same thing. It’s a shame when you have to move backward when moving forward…

    Hey Bill,

Thanks for your suggestion. In my case, I have 139 shots (Sony XDCAM) that need window timecode.

    Hello Andreas,

Your suggestion to clone seems the best solution in my case. Thanks for clarifying the solution.

I saw the video mentioned above. Here is the problem. If you make a copy of the Event Project thru FCPX, it retrieves all my original footage and copies it to my Junior’s HD under the Original Media folder. My copy of the Event Browser only points to my footage within my client folder. My inclination is to duplicate/copy my original media onto my Juniors’ HD and then copy my Event Folder, not using FCPX. From the video mentioned above, they say not to do this. This is my dilemma.

  • So why have keyframe text attributes if it doesn’t work?
Do you think that it will work in the future, or was the keyframe attribute for text tracking was solution that was never planned?
