The GTech ES drive can be accessed from the desktop. For some reason FCP loads and then disappears.

Thanks for the suggestion Raphael. The disks do not show up. What I neglected to mention is that I have upgraded to FC7.

I keep the PP on each card. The space taken up is just above zero so you will not lose any appreciable recording time. I do use SDHC for home use but only cards that work on 1.11 firmware.

Theres a software program out there that will sync up anything to anything- can’t remember its name.

We still use our SX cameras 10 years on – now mainly for conference work with 20-1 lenses.

My EX1 is in being repaired for this very problem at the moment. It’s just short of £800 inc Vat to fix.

We archive EX material to HDCAM as the total failsafe on top of 2 copies of all BPAV folders on separate hard drives.

I have the same problem when using my MBP. Material plays perfectly when project and drive connected to a MacPro machine with a BlackLink card.

Swit do battery for the EX1/3 14.4v with a D tap. They work well and cost a 3rd less than the Sony equivalent.

Were you shooting in PAL or NTSC mode?
