I have heard that FCP is flakey but then I’m a committed Avid user – have been for nearly 10 years. I now have Symphony and Dv Express Pro never had any serious problems with either. When you have a client breathing down your neck paying by the hour you need the best – Avid.

Why not create text in Word and then import?

I think another quote from the BBC PR was that they found that the editors impartial eye was good for a production so they won’t be axed. Preditors are too much in love with their material to be objective. Personaly the day I became a professional was the day when I recognised that some of my work was crap and must hit the cutting room floor. A great editor friend of mine used to say to rookie directors “careful if you carry on with your idea then i’ll do it and then you will be in the s***. Film editors unite – sanity will prevail.

For it’s Stagetools everytime. This is because it is a no brainer. It is so easy to work and gives superb results. A client I had last week could not believe the ease with which we turned is mediocre stills sequences into an ace rostrum job.
