Surely this is one for the decision maker to sort out! Seriously though why not do a short test sequence and present it to your online operator so that you can get things sorted out cheaply.

Just about everyone can play an NTSC disc in the UK. Give it a try before you start out on a mega job. I make NTSC DVDs in the UK and have full NTSC DVD play and monitoring kit to check it works before despatch. If you don’t have this as a PAL facilty you could be digging a big hole for yourself.

I thought I had selected 16-9 as my preference in avid Sonic program. Llasma and LCD screens set to auto aspect work perfectly. It is only the laptop software DVD players that flip betweeen 4×3 menu and 16-9 flagged video material.

Sorry have not bothered with firewire as HD-SDI does all the hard work combined with 422 control.

Thanks Grinner. Have now made a disc that looks good but Intervideo runs the menu in 4×3 and changes to 19-9 for the video clips.

We use 422 connection with generic template.

I use the HVR 1500 with no problems. Used with Adrenaline for digitising and dropping back to tape in DVCam mode.

The lens really has to be the best you can afford. It is a waste of time buying an HD camera and then putting a naff lens on it.
