Will, nice tip thank you. Worked perfect. That saved me a ton of time and headache. Now I can move over somewhat easily.

I’m not so much worried about the project. I mean I am but what’s more important going forward is all the organization that went into the project. I think I’ll start exporting all the clips with the proper names. I’ll finish all the editing in the project then pick up where I left off in the new FCP X.
Thanks,

An archive and install is a choice you get when you want to reload the system. I chose that to start with because it takes less time. We got lucky and it worked. There was something messed up with the OS and reloading it fixed the problem. We think something got corrupted but we don’t know what it was. A very tricky problem. With OS X it’s much more difficult to know exactly what is causing a problem but at least the problems don’t come up very often.
Thank you for all your help.B

I sent the unit back to BM. They checked it on 3 different computers. It worked. Got it back here and I still have to no input from any source. I just did an “Archive and Install” of OS 10.5.2 and I still do not have any input.

We’ve checked all that with BM. This is a very tricky problem. We tried drivers, settings and hardware all to no avail.

Did the update. Fixed the problem with LiveType, where the backgrounds weren’t showing up. I’m having spontaneous crashes where FCP just crashes when using the keyboard to delete or some other function.
When I say crash I mean no report to Apple, nothing. It just disappears and has to be reopened manually.Bruce

No, it’s not copy protected. I ended up using another DVD player to get the job done. I’ll try the component out and see what happens. That kind of sucks that they encrypt that output.
Thank you for the help,

Yes, I understood. 😉
Once again, I truly appreciate the response. I know how it goes, I’ve been in your shoes. As soon as I have time I’ll try your suggestion and post how it went. In time you’ll see me helping others out on this forum once I get used to how it all works.
Thank you,
