I have no video input from any source on my Multibridge Pro. We sent the unit back to Blackmagic, they could not find any problem with the unit. I can’t get much work done with no input. I guess I should do a clean install of OS X and see what happens, although I do have a “clean” user account that did not work either. Anyone got any ideas?

    Thank You,
    Bruce

    Hi.

Mostly no input is wrong settings. You should check it out.
Annothr thing i’d look would be “converter settings” ie bach what you make with usb cable.

We’ve checked all that with BM. This is a very tricky problem. We tried drivers, settings and hardware all to no avail.

Do you have any other machines in your place to test with ?

I sent the unit back to BM. They checked it on 3 different computers. It worked. Got it back here and I still have to no input from any source. I just did an “Archive and Install” of OS 10.5.2 and I still do not have any input.

    Hi.

What do you mean with archive and install?

Did BM also got your insert card or just external unit ?

As i see it if external box and insert card both are good then machine or configutartion is faulty.

Do you have eny recollection what did you change on your machine before
    all went bad.

I’d get myself empty drive and make full fresh install.
All the upgrade etc methods seem a bit woodoo as you will never have
clean machine. At first system updates. Then FCP and after that BM stuff. And it should work.

Also look very closely to input settings and consider what your camera or deck outputs.

Take as meny possibilities as separate “modules” and analyze it a bit and you should get there pretty fast.

Maybe your tape device is gone bad ?

An archive and install is a choice you get when you want to reload the system. I chose that to start with because it takes less time. We got lucky and it worked. There was something messed up with the OS and reloading it fixed the problem. We think something got corrupted but we don’t know what it was. A very tricky problem. With OS X it’s much more difficult to know exactly what is causing a problem but at least the problems don’t come up very often.
Thank you for all your help.
