Having same problem. Spent DAYS sub clipping. And search brings up nothing. I even search for names of master clips, and nothing comes up. WTF? HELP?

I tried this particular work around – adding filler audio – when I first started experiencing the audio glitch problem. It worked at first, but quickly I found the glitch creeping back in again on my exports, even if I had filler audio at the heads and tails and all gaps in my timeline. I tried swapping out all my dissolves as someone else suggested, which again worked at first, but then the problem came back. I tried changing my exports from MP4s to h264 quicktimes. Also worked at first, but then started finding glitches in my quicktimes. Switched to ProRes out of Premiere and did my final encoding in Compressor. Then I found the glitches creeping into my ProRes.
I finally spent a few days and completely wiped my hard drive and did a fresh install of the OS and Adobe apps, no Time Machine Restore. Since the re-install I have not experienced the problem.
Anyway, don’t presume the problem is gone. And the glitch is not always reproducible in the same timeline at the same spot. It’s there, then you don’t do anything and export again and it’s gone, then export a third time and it’s back in a different spot.
I missed deadlines, probably lost clients, lost sleep, lost free time, and pretty much lost my mind due to this issue. I basically had to build in an unlimited amount of time to watch in real time, and possibly re-export multiple times anything that came out of Premiere.

I am just the editor, I know nothing about the camera settings, or what the camera is capable of. It was shot Log.
So can someone clarify – shooting HDR is a new camera feature? Is this something that is common? Has it been standard in video cameras for a while? It is not the same thing as LOG or RAW? If you have footage shot LOG, HDR settings won’t help you?
Playing with the HDR controls – curves, HDR Range, and HDR Specular, I was able to restore detail in some of the highlights. But I am not 100% sure what the HDR Range and HDR specular are doing, I’m just sliding them around until i get something.
I am pretty sure the detail I am getting back is what is within that “headroom” of super-whites between 235-255, which has been part of the digital video speck as far back as I can remember – to the Avid days shooting on BetaSP.
I can also pull in the same bits of detail from super whites with HDR off, and pulling down the top of my curve. I have tried both ways -using the HDR controls, and just pulling down my whites, and compared the two, and can’t seem to tell if the HDR controls are doing anything but accomplishing the same thing in a different way.

Also, I’m on 9.2.0 build 41. What build are you on?

Interesting, this problem FINALLY disappeared with 9.2.0 for me. (I too lost all faith in Adobe because of this)
I also did a complete system re-install – wiped hard drive, set everything up from scratch, no time machine restore.
Not that you should need to do a complete re-install, but maybe some remnant from a previous version – a settings or encoding profile – triggers it?

Also remembering to clear in and out before merging footage has been problematic. I find myself merging and re-merging the same footage over and over and over.

Yeah, I thought I had this fixed by rendering everything first and exporting ProRes QTs out of Premiere, then running through other means to generate an MP4. I just found the glitch again, and traced it to the ProRes, so that workflow is out the door.
I also tried swapping all my constant gain power fades for constant gain. Made no difference.
Rebooting before exporting seems to help, but I am presently exporting hundreds of short clips that keep getting little revisions. Not so practical.
Thus, I am without a reliable workaround.
Seriously Adobe, where are we at giving us a solution or an incremental version? I have been waiting since Oct for a better release. This last one had so many issues. Seriously makes me reconsider using Premiere as my primary edit system if I can’t rely on it at crunchtime.

OMG thank you thank you!!! Swapping all my constant power fades with Constant Gain worked great.
I have been exporting as Quicktimes (either ProRes, then bringing through Compressor or AME, or making h.264 codec quicktimes) and that solves the problem for the most part as well. But sometimes an mp4 right out of Premiere is so much easier!!
