  • I have experienced this exact problem ever since Premiere added OpenCL support. The best solution has been to switch to OpenCL and no longer use CUDA.

OpenCL does not have these problems, and have not noticed any performance differences working in OpenCL vs CUDA (accept that the problem you describe ceases)

My guess is that, Adobe really worked hard to make the switch from CUDA/Nvidia only to the more widely used OpenCL, and in the process got slack or compromised in CUDA.

Just the answer I needed! Still works in CS14

Someone recommended re-installing Premiere, I did this and it now recognized DSLR footage. Will keep you updated if it works or hangs.

Apparently after installing a new OS, a re-install of software is a good idea.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but under “video effects” is a gradient wipe that lets you feather the edge. As it is not a transition, you must keyframe the progress. But it does the trick.

My GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB, MacBook Pro, Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013

    Warp stabilizer works fine.

I found another better solution – apparently nesting the clip gets around this scaling bug. So when I do need to scale a clip at 40-50% I am nesting.

    Erik:

Thanks. Switching to software only DOES solve the problem. However, given the beastly 5k footage, and I’m working off a laptop, not sure I want to work in software only…. Pros and cons.

For now, just avoiding crossing that 50% threshold. Hope ADOBE fixes this bug!

FWIW it may be worth trying to do this in PluralEyes. That is my go to when the synching in Premiere isn’t cutting it. However, there are other problems from using PluralEyes that I only like to use it as a last resort.

January 15, 2014 at 6:19 pm in reply to: Manually generate peak audio files?

After a lot of research, here is the best work around I’ve found to cherry-pick which clips to generate waveforms for.

“If you want the audio waveform to generate for a single clip you can right click the clip and select “audio gain” then adjust the gain and it will generate a waveform. ”

Not ideal, but if anyone has other suggestions let me know. I’d think you could just lasso a bunch of clips in a bin, and then select “generate waveform” or something. Not have to edit it all in, then do this sillyness.

Alright, update!!!! 7.2 resolved this problems, and lets me Render Audio as usual, and I now have waveforms for Multicam Audio.
