Try using “optical flow” in motion. It takes forever to apply/render the effect, but I have gotten very impressive results with slow motion HDV footage that way.

    Tim,

That was what exactly the problem. I switched the sequence settings to 1080i60 and it worked perfectly. Thanks!!!

Just use MPEGstreamclip to pull the footage off of the DVD.

Thank you all for your responses. I think I’m going to look into a Sennheiser S2 kit, and if the quality isn’t good enough for the project (which isn’t a Hollywood Multi-million dollar one) then we’ll just rent something.

    Thanks again.

I have very little experience with wireless mics. I might be able to spend a little more than $400. I do realize that you get what you pay for…but for an upcoming low budget project, a wireless mic is an absolute necessity.

I was looking at a sennheiser kit on bhphoto that got decent reviews…

I’m pretty sure I have version 5, but I’m not positive.

How do I put on the 422 chroma smoother?

Thanks Chris. I just trashed my FCP prefs and then it worked.

That didn’t seem to be the problem. I only changed the scale of the text, not the positioning. Center is at 0,0 for the entire clip of the text.

No no no….I would never store video on my internal drive. I have multiple external drives for that. I’m usually working on 5-6 projects at once. I have the first edition MBP with either 80 or 100GB hard drive. With FCS2 installed, that is a HUGE chunk of what I have. I have about 20GB free, but I’d feel better if I had more..that’s all.
