What you need is the “Canopus Playback Codecs Pack” v303.zip
You can get it by doing a net search or going to Grass Valley’s website and registering and downloading
    https://www.grassvalley.com/login?r=/support/downloads/demos
It used to be available there
If you find it on the net as part of a general codec pack, it might not be a good idea to load a general pack into your computer, sometimes they load junk you don’t need and can cause problems.

[Nate Callens] “Also I am getting some blurring on panning and movement shots”
That comes with the format, you have to be careful when panning not to move too fast.

[David Ghast] “it cannot playback more than two layers of footage or one layer with effects without needing to be rendered.”
[David Ghast] “Im on win7 x64, core i7, 10gb’s ram, raid 0 media drive, 9600gt.”
I wouldn’t blame Adobe for part of your problem when you are running a halfarsed video card according to your specs listed in your first post, the 9600GT has only 64cores and usually 512MB memory which means you are going to get no Cuda support even using the Cuda card hack, only what boost you get from the software mercury engine, which isn’t enough for AVCHD with multilayers

It makes it a file, what you have todo is identify what kind of AVI file it is, AVI is just a wrapper which can contain various types of Interleaved Video Audio, you can use a free program like “GSpot” or other ID program to determine what it is.

Do you have the latest updates to Ppro CS5 installed? What kind of harddrive setup do you have? what kind of video are you trying to process?
