As I understsnd it if you capture recorded video via HDMI you will get 4:2:0, if you are using the camera as a live head you can capture as 4:2:2

  • To get the proper color you would have to calibrate the tv and use a device to output a proper tv signal like a Matrox Mini MX02, BlackMagicDesign(requires USB3), or Intensity Pro, AJA also has devices

OK, what function does the MX02 serve in the signal path?? are you passing the uncompressed video through it to another device? and what format composite, component etc. or just using it for a monitor source and saving the video to a harddrive?

[Blake Hyggen] “I would like a camera that supports an external mic; I looked at the Canon Vixia HF S200, but it lacks the mic support that I need.”
The S200 has a 3.5 stereo mic input which will accept most self-powered condenser mic with a proper adapter.

The stops of image stabilization refer to how many times faster you would have to increase the shutter speed to remove the artifacts that a unstabilized lense could have.

[Joanna Ross] “What we have found is that in our SD output of an uncompressed avi, .mov, or mpeg2 that there seems to be some compression and low video levels”
What kind of SD output? SD analog? SD digital? what media are you outputing to? for broadcast has little meaning because its up to the client what formats they want to broadcast from.

CS2 was certified for a 32bit OS, I couldn’t get it to operate very good on XP64, CS4 was the first certified for Win7 64

Does the path it was going to save to still exist? if you are using external drives this can be a problem, also have you noticed anything different about the computer lately? have you tried a different restore point to eliminate possible computer problems?

New hardware + New software usually = new workflows, you have to realize that doing stuff one way can’t be done exactly the same on a different platform/software do to the proprietary nature of software.
