Canon Vixia HF20
I have 3 canon hf20s.
I was wondering if any one out there has captured via hdmi.
To an uncompressed codec..I talked to canon and was informed that the hdmi out is after the compression codec.
So 4:2:0 subsampling and 24m/bits native to the camera AVCHD.
Is this right?
I’ve heard of other people on forums talking about hdmi capture being better because of bypassing compression….

As I understsnd it if you capture recorded video via HDMI you will get 4:2:0, if you are using the camera as a live head you can capture as 4:2:2
