You are using a DV PAL camcorder, all DV whether standard or widescreen is in a 4:3(720×576 pixel matrix)the difference is the horizontal aspect ratio of the pixels or PAR(pixel aspect ratio) the widescreen is a anamorphic image, it is widescreen squeezed into a 4:3 frame which is expanded on a widescreen tv if a WS flag is present if not you have to manually set the widescreen tv to show it correctly, here is a link about anamorphic dv tv

You need to get another harddrive for video data, a single harddrive whether partitioned or not can’t handle video work and computer housekeeping concurently, one gig memory on a video card is usually good enough for HD playback, I’ve done it on other systems with 512m
You should also get a recomended nvidia card to aid in realtime editing or one that can be hacked

You could try it, and compare it against the color they list for photoshop, you have to watch out for photoshop sometimes what you see isn’t what you get if the printer isn’t calibrated to the monitor.
Another paint that has been used is a Walmart color that works ok “Arugula (number 91322)”

Like Danny mentions people have been sucessful capturing from various HDMI sources except those which may contain some type of content protection like HDCP, etc. from BluRay or other protected sources.

MKV is a container which can contain various types of video, you need to specify what? also the description of your computer would help and what version of premiere you are using will also help people decide if they can help you.

You should have at least 2 drives in a editing system, one for apps and the second for data, having everything on one drive even if partitioned causes access problems due to housekeeping on the app partition.
