Is there a PMS color for green screen
Posted by David Dinenna on July 26, 2010 at 3:16 pmWe are painting a wall for our green screen. Is there a specific PMS color to use for the green?
Thanks in advance for any help!

July 26, 2010 at 4:32 pmThis article has a formular for use at HomeDepot and a Photoshop color you can print out to be scanned by a paint store for mixing

I was also reading that some people use a completely saturated green, so the RGB would Red:0,Green:255: Blue:0
Would that work best?

July 26, 2010 at 5:06 pmYou could try it, and compare it against the color they list for photoshop, you have to watch out for photoshop sometimes what you see isn’t what you get if the printer isn’t calibrated to the monitor.
Another paint that has been used is a Walmart color that works ok “Arugula (number 91322)”

August 3, 2010 at 2:28 amThere are two colors for green work: Chromakey (really bright) and Digital (a bit darker).
It’s not going to matter too much if it’s a shade or two off, it just has to illuminate evenly and have a matte finish.
Ideally, you’d want to slightly clip the green channel with chromakey green, but if you can get a color close and save $30-40 a gallon on paint, it should be ok for basic green screen stuff like interviews, etc.
