    HI

The new Adobe Premiere CS5 is a hungry beast and unless you spend a few thousand on a laptop you wont get a spec that officially works.
But here are a few laptops Ive found that come close and are much more affordable. As far as I can see they an all benefit form the MPE hack to take advantage of GPU support.

    Sony VAIO F series (VPCF127FX/B) $1500
    HP DV8 $1500
    Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q890 ($1900)

    They all have
    i7 processor
    6-8 Gb ram
    500GB(7200rpm) Hard drive
    1Gb nVidia Graphics with Cuda
    1080p screen resolution

Has any one tried out any of these laptops with CS5?
Have you used MPEG2/AVCHD and found it editable?

Im most interested in the sony as its the only one that doesnt look like crap 😛

The Toshiba is the only one of the group that you mentioned that has a decent video card, you want to have at least a GTS series mobile card, more cuda cores 96 vice 48 in the sony and hp

Thanks yes its true but its quite a lot more and not really a budget laptop.

I know you get what you pay for but Im interested in what experiences people have had in using such laptops. Ive heard people using the nVidia GT 230m , like in the HP DV8 has worked.

By the way they all have eSATA ports which is another necessity.

Do any of these listed laptops have HDMI out or USB 3?
