you can either use Groups and have one emitter in one group and the other in a different group (then use ‘Groups Affected’ in the various Modifiers) or just go the the Modifiers tab in each emitter and check “Only Modifiers In Same System”

it would be easier in xparticles to move the particles around but check out the Thinking Particles (if you have it) the presets have some Effectors that could work. If you are limited to standard particles it would be more difficult but perhaps not impossible

what happens if you make a new empty project and copy/paste the objects from the 12 GB one into it and save?

it looks like a trace of particles (with some pretty fine control over where they go – xparticles is my first thought) with a transparent texture – whether that could be done with a hair material or if it would have to be a sweep off the trace (or xparticles spline mesher) is one was to do it, so it sounds like you are moving the correct direction but the texture is going to be important (not to mention the lighting etc)

  • haven’t seen anything that large – can you post the scene file?

in the Dynamics tag – Force/Aerodynamics add some Drag and make sure Two-Sided is checked or it will drag facing one way and not the other (unless your grass has thickness). If you are using Wind to move your grass you probably want to use some Lift as well.

the usual response is to check out ‘Dynamics/The Party’s Over’ in the Help and it’s still valid but that is also one messed up file. Why use a tube filleted into a torus instead of using a torus? And something is seriously wrong with the file since the Cloner has a count of 4 but there are only 2 clones, with nothing else that should be affecting it I can see (even adding a new cloner has the same behaviour, very odd).
So I started a fresh scene and put in a torus and cloner and kind of the same setup. Then it was a matter of adding some Linear and Angular Dampening and reducing the mass of the hoops and removing Collision Noise and adjusting the bounce and friction for all the dynamic tags.
I also increased the Steps per Frame in Project/Dynamics/Expert, that helped a bunch.
And one last note, only the hoops need to be Moving Mesh, the cubes (or in my case the the cube and the floor) can be Automatic since Automatic is a box around the object anyway.

C4D doesn’t show you alpha in the render so you see what it should look like on the background in C4D but when exporting to another program for compositing alpha is used with transparency because it gives the proper look when you place the render on a different back ground. With only transparency it looks wrong.
So if you are going to composite this keep the alpha but if not then don’t use it because you don’t really need it.

Not enough info (or a file to check) so I have to guess it’s because you have Alpha turned on and it’s showing you the transparency plus alpha when saved. If that’s not it we’d have to see more info.
