  • hey Justin, you can always try to click on the poster’s name, that takes you to their Activity page where the image link may be (if they did upload but didn’t copy paste the link back into the post) or check the Images tab also there

  • you might be exporting wrong from FreeCAD, yes. I don’t know it at all but check the output settings and experiment

this is a test of concept – it’s very wrong in the spacing and curve execution but basically it’s just a cube with subdivisions to match the number of ridges (for half the object) then every second top edges/vertexes are lifted to make the ridges followed by moving the center vertexes outward. All in a SubD surface to smooth it and dropped into a Symmetry object to make the other half.

the Compositing tag is what you are looking for. In the example you would attach one to the lightbox and uncheck ‘Seen By Camera’ – if you don’t want the reflection of the light/shadow box on the floor but still want the light on the floor around the red objects you would need to add the floor/plane/whatever you are using to the Exclusion tab of the Compositing tag and make sure the reflection icon is dark (the icons are – Transparency, Refraction, Reflection, Hierarchy) when the icon is dark it’s enabled so reflections fron the shadowbox off the floor would be ignored

noises won’t match in the viewport and render unless you are using Enhanced Open GL and have ‘Noises’ turned on

unsure about effectors (the only way I know to control a single parameter is a blend so maybe that way but I don’t know a setup that would do it myself – someone might know) but xpresso is possible but it depends on how many groups you have

Not that I know of, Jim. I just thought it was the safest answer since Kevin didn’t mention the method of deformation, since there are number of choices, but given that the title was Applying Deformer rather than effector or displacement (via texture) I went for the safe World choice assuming he was applying a Displacement Deformer on the original object so would get 21 copies of the displacement if he didn’t go with world.

    set Cell Noise/Space to World

no solution yet but no, you don’t need a cloner to do this – if you remove the cloner and use a Target expression on the Car object you get the same movement

remove all the friction from the wheels and the body does point at your target – it just doesn’t move since there is no friction. While the tag says to point at the target, the wheels are driving it forward (straight, ignoring the target). Either you would have to point the front wheels at the target or reduce friction so that the car still moves but it’s not so resistant to the change of direction the target is trying to cause (just a guess)
