if the granules are loaded as a bump map then use the same map in the specular color channel to limit specular.

A formula effector (but I don’t know the formula – I have a set of them somewhere but can’t find it and won’t have time again until Monday night, maybe someone else knows) or a shader effector with a ripple texture in greyscale – there used to be a ripple shader but that likely doesn’t work anymore – I’ve also seen an animated ripple movie somewhere too… another possibility is an animated gradient.

The preset Pencil (Rough Sketch) has a number of animated bits, in Render Settings/Effects/Sketch and Toon/Main set Control Level to Advanced and you will see more settings. You can try turning off ‘Draw’ in the Animate tab that appears in your Sketch Style Tags. That helps but does not stop the animation. Other presets are not animated like that but if you want that same look you’ll have to dig deeper to find where the movement is coming from.

  • I’m guessing since I don’t know what kind of wipe you are after, which end starts being revealed first or is it like that at all… if you are revealing one end to the other but are trying to maintain the length of the sides from the tip as equal (or at least proportional) try using a sweepNurb as the boolean cutter. That way you can set up the spline to curve with your tear shape and it might work.
If that’s not what you meant we’d likely need more info on what you are looking for.

  • Sorry, I was moving fast and just responded based on the pictures. Animation would be tougher since the Atom Array is just meant for what it does. You can set it to Single Elements and make it editable or do a Current state to Object and you will get all the pieces as separate objects. Those could be animated separately but it would be a load…. Maybe Xpresso iterating through a list (but the axis on all the edges would need to go to the root end you want it to scale from). Maybe MoGraph…. I’ll take a look later today

Render Settings/Options/Ray Depth make it bigger – it’s the number of layers the renderer will go through before it starts to render black instead

  • 1008232 is doable with the Atom Array object and a sphere with the right construction (starting with Icosahedron probably). Depends on what kind of ‘smoothness’ you are looking for.

    The other is tougher…

  • if you mean something literally like the dk spot, only the texture needs to be animated. The ‘falls’ can be an unmoving piece of geometry and the texture (with alpha) moves. A *grossly* simplified example

with boxes and floor try using Box collision not full, more of a speed thing – and in the Solver Object try different Integration Methods and/or increasing Oversampling and Subsampling
